Shropshire
Shropshire is a down breed on the conservation list. The staple length of the fiber is 3.5-4" long and micron count is in the high 20s. As a princess, this fiber is not soft enough for next to skin wear for me, but your mileage may vary. As a down breed, it would be great for socks. It is a durable wool and would be great for outerwear and non-clothing projects as well. As with all down breeds, your yarn is going to be very elastic. The wool is a little bit grabby, but not bad, it should be easy enough for a beginner to spin.
